Deck waterproofing demo/ prying with tool?

Im demoing some deck waterproofing at work under some slate. Already have tiled popped off. The only way ive been successful getting the whole mortar, rubberized coating, lath, paper, layer is with a hammer drill and tile chisel. But i have to kind of pry it with the bit in the hammer drill. 25+ staples square foot. Different flat bars, pry bars dont work as well. My question is its a nice hilti te50 and unsure if its ok to do this to the chuck/ tool. Kind of notorious for babying tools in the beginning and i know these are pretty stout so any thoughts? I apologize if this is wrong section wasn't real sure where to post. Thanks!

Not trying to use tool as a
pry bar. Just slightly popping
Up lath to get a bar under. So
Slight pressure. Hard to explain.
Sharper tile chisel on tool makes it possible
Slide underneath

Your description with out visual is difficult to see. Can you post a picture of the area? Right off using an SDS hammer in chisel mode with a flat blade comes to mind.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately im unable to post pictures at this time. Ill try to better describe. So the the sharpness of the sds max tile chisel in chisel mode is what makes it possible for it to slide under the membrane/ lath. Around all the staples and and nails. At this point the tool is close to parallel with the deck, probably 5 degrees. All that really seems to work is rotating the trigger end slightly towards the sky, so essentially using it to pop the staples as you might use same motion to pop a tile. Im am not using a bunch of pressure but it is "prying" motion. I have seen this done by others before, hell ive probably done it with a bosses tool to get the job done at some point. I paid a lot for this and need it is last. Probably wouldn't get reimbursed if i were to harm it and no other employees have tools that are really contributing to getting this done. Just thinking it may be hard on the chuck? Or maybe i just need to shut up and get it done. Thanks again @chandler48

An SDS hammer will be indestructible in your hands, believe me. We use them to cut into monolithic walls of solid concrete, so your staples aren't going to hurt it. Get 'r done !!
Mike Milam and Nealtw like this.

Buying new tools is a disease. You can't help it. And you can't stop.
