Bathroom Disaster??

Hello Everyone!!

My husband and I are in the early stages of updating out 1960s pink bathroom. Currently we have a pink tile going 3/4 up the walls, in the tub and standing shower. Previously it was on the floor but we hired a contractor to replace our vanity and floor.

We will be having ALL the pink glazed to bright white next week but I am concerned my vanity top and new floor tile do not match. In the store the tile looked brown.. in my bathroom it is very grey and the vanity top a light creme. I do not know where to start the changes. As you will see the grout is brown.. Do I request white? Should I paint the upper portion of the walls something that favors brown. Please help!!! Thank you!!

Re: Bathroom Disaster??

Store lighting and your bath lighting can make disasters with some subtle colors. Try changing the lighting in your bath first. Cheap plug in portable fluoresent. If not, your judgement was wrong, join the half color blind club.
White will work with anything. Grey, cream are also neutral. But knowing ourselves as what we are, I'd at least go to a paint store and ask somebody who knows and show you the color combinations. There are still stand alone stores such as benjamin and others. These stores may have people with experience.

Re: Bathroom Disaster??

There's only about a billion shades of white out there and some tend toward purple or blue or grey or brown or yellow, ... you get the picture. Matching white is actually pretty tough a lot of the time.

Are you planning to provide some pictures?
