Basement wall help

I have a basement that needs to be finished. The house is brand new. I just need a little help to get started. The bottom of the walls are concrete and the top half are framed. Would my best bet be to frame the bottom and have a ledge or put a whole new wall up? I guess I am wondering what my options are. I do not have much handy experience but I am willing to learn.

Thanks
Eric

Here's a couple shots of my english basement. I've done ledges, but framed up one wall as a flat accent wall with arches.

Those photos look slick!

I'm finishing my basement as well. I choose to build a full wall on one wall and a half wall with shelf on the other. In hindsight I wish I would have done the shelf on both of them, but I think it is all up to your preference. If a smaller room then the shelf will seem to make it larger. I think costs will be near the same for me.

Thanks for the help. I like the arches btw! Were they easy to install/ drywall? I like the bar too!

My basement is 1800 square feet and it looks like I have a lot of framing, drywalling to do. It has two bedrooms already framed and a bathroom. The drains are install for the bathroom and water pipes go to it also. The whole exterior 1/2 way up is concrete so it looks like I will be putting a ledge across the whole bottom. Ill try to get pics soon!
