Hey everyone. I've got an old house and one corner of my basement wall leaks when there is any amount of rain. I've done everything I could on the outside to keep water away but still can't stop it. I have tried hydraulic cement and it helped at first it helped but the water found its way in. Any suggestions that won't cost thousands of dollars. Thanks!
That is a problem that will cost some money to fix. If regrading and channeling the rain away did not help, it needs something like a french drain to catch the water and pump it away from the house.
The window suggests that corner is not under a lot of earth and its pressures. That means the settling of the foundation/footing was uneven and the blocks moved.
If you can't repair it, and settling may not have stopped, I'd leave it open. By the way, outside photo will help.
