Knotty pine ceiling gaps

Hi, would like to know if the gaps in our vaulted ceiling can be caulked? Or will it interfere with the pine shrinking or swelling?

If you use a flexible caulk it won't prevent the wood from moving....but as noted it it'll be plenty visible. Ron

I have the same problem with my knotty pine ceiling. It's way down on my ToDo list, but I plan to find a caulk that comes close to matching the color of the stained wood, and laying in a very thin bead to partially fill the gap. It'll still be noticeable, but it will be less ugly than the black gap.
