I'm in the process of building my own home. Its going to be a small home no bigger than 600-800 sq. ft. and I'm having serious trouble on how to build a post and beam foundation! I have been researching and I want to use cinder blocks because I want it off the ground. But I don't know how to setup the posts for stability in the middle.
I've researched Larry Haun and his videos and saw how he did his posts but, what I didn't figure out was how he formed the base, middle, and how he connected the wood to the concrete.
Though, I just really need a proper way in doing my posts in the middle so i can get started on framing my floor.
That doesn't sound like it should be anything to be confused about.
What are the outside measurements of the house?
how many posts are you planning on?
how high off the ground will you be?
what is the frost depth in your area?
How big are the footings you are planning for?
