I have a fairly small kitchen, but a bunch of large, deep cabinets. Being as large as they are, it is hard to really put anything in them and really utilize all of the space. I have thought of adding wire drawers to them. Wanted to see some other ideas. Please give your opinion of the skill level required too with your recommendation
I'd forget the wire drawer idea unless you know a source where you can get the exact size you need. Standard ball bearing drawer guides require 1" of space(1/2" per side)to function. If you have a framed cabinet with a 22" wide opening, the drawer would be 21" wide. This can be made from a birch plywood fairly easily with table saw.
Do you have a table saw?
Skill set to do this not that high, maybe 5 out of 10.
But you need to exactly understand the relationship of the drawer, the drawer guides and the space you need them to fit into. Making a sturdy box that won't fit the space does nobody any good.
