Cabinet Doors

I have a cabinet that won’t close and another that won’t stay shut. Anyone have experience with the hinges in the picture and can point me in the right direction as to what I need to do to fix cabinets so they close/stay shut. I tried googling but can’t seem to find anything on these hinges.

Re: Cabinet Doors

Looks like the top screw on the cabinet door is the culprit. Loosen the screws on the door and square up the door. Then tighten. May have to do a few adjustment sequences to get it right
I don't mind spending money, I mind wasting money.

Re: Cabinet Doors

Won't close - most likely they were opened too far and are bent. Remove them and sight from the top down - compare to a known good one and rebend as required. Could also be crap in the hinge - clean them and dry lube.

Won't stay shut - could be the same as above - dirt or bent. Also, they look like many I've seen that have an internal spring that tries to hold it in position - again implying that it's bent.

These are not rocket science.

Of course, we are assuming that the cabinet is square and plumb... and the doors are not wracked or warped.

Let us know what you find so we can all learn from your endeavors.

Re: Cabinet Doors

Those hinges also may have how much they can open. Don't know what it's called, but does the hinge allow 100" open or 140" open, just as example. I don't remember the real numbers. As domo said, the door may have forced the hinge beyond its caps. Replacing with more caps reduces another damage.

It's also important to replace with quality brand. Check rocklers or woodworkerswarehouse. I imagine they would not sell really cheap junks such as amazon. If not sure, search and post the seller's address. Sorry but try to keep your post in the front.
