Have a set of bifold closet doors built in 1963. One side came down, hardware is destroyed/missing??? We bought a whole new set, track, hardware, everything. Now we find that the holes in the 1963 doors are larger, so the new hardware won't fit in snugly enough to work.
Any suggestions beyond buying new doors? Can we rip off a half-inch or so on the old doors and create new holes? (there's plenty of room). Is there some way of filling in the old holes to accommodate the smaller hardware? What we can't do is get the proper size hardware for the larger holes, as my son tore down the old track and it's toast....
