Thick Aluminum to Aluminum!

Wasn't 100% sure where to stick this thread but I am trying to attach a piece of aluminum to aluminum. I am sure the proper way to this is with a weld but that is not an option. The one piece of aluminum I am attaching too is deep to get a bolt & nut threw. So my question is there a self locking bolt or screw that I could use to attach these two with a good amount of strength? I feel like a self tapping screw wouldn't be enough. Any other idea's or suggestions would be great appreciated. Thanks much in advance for your time and help!

More about the size and shape of the pieces and application would help.

Ayuh,... Atleast put some dimensions of the materials ya wanta join,...

Just how thick is thick, 'n how thin is thin,..?.. in inches,..??

Pictures would be even Better,...

There are larger self-tappin' screws, or there's drills, 'n taps for machine threaded fasteners,....
As well as rivets, 'n such,...

or good ole balin' wire, 'n duct tape,....

Re: Thick Aluminum to Aluminum!

I have no idea what you mean by a "good amount of strength". Are you supporting an elephant on the end of an aluminum cantilever? I don't mean to be difficult, but you include no information about the size of the pieces, the load, the intended use, the limitations of installation. You may get a reasonable answer if you thoroughly, accurately and carefully describe what you are trying to accomplish, with dimensions, a drawing perhaps, or maybe some photos.
