Looking to buy a gas setup

Hi all,

I'm finding too many instances now that I need a torch setup for heating up seized bolts and nuts, soldering and possibly brazing. What should I look for in a really economic but sound setup. I won't be using the unit daily but I want something that is appropriate when I need it but not real expensive. Thanks.

Ayuh,.... I bought a set of Victor torches a couple decades ago, that live in the back of my pickup,.....

Other than abit of water damage to the gauges over the years, I'd do it again, in a heartbeat,.....

Thumbs up

OA set-up

Hi, I don't know if you got a set-up yet, but if you're near to an OXARC they have some really great deals! I got a Harris set that included, both regulators, hoses, cutting and welding torches each with a tip included ALL for $175!! The reason being is they were phasing out of the T-screw regulators and types of tips etc...but hey I was using a 30 year old Victor set up, so these babies LAST! Remember to get twice the oxygen, than acetylene, due to usage, and you can also rent tanks for pretty cheap, you gotta shop around. If you're not using often a 22lb acetylene and a 60lb oxygen will do fine, these weights are not exact, but the guys at the shop are usually great, just tell them how often you'll be using them, and what for. Which is another question Hope that helps
