Well, more than 15 yrs as an owner/operator of a outdoor power eqpt repair shop, I've found that many units(Sears/Husqvarna,etc) ask for their own specs.
PTO shafts may differ, control systems may differ, etc.
The reason I want to contact my B/S rep,is that the specific #s on this engine don't show on the lists.
This could mean a couple of things:
1: The engine is specific to that mower/ Brand.
2 : It may be a discontinued engine.
3: If it was from a box store(Lowes, etc),it may not show on dealer lists, since, even though it SAYS "Husqvarna" it may have been made by AYP/Roper,Murray,or any of the other companies Husqvarna owns.
Either way,it's not something the average person would look for,and ,as I said,it could cost them.

Yeah I was hoping my starter and muffler were both still ok

Good idea, I just did that. I think I'll pull off the old engine and see what size the crank is for sure before I look any more

Rep says it's a Husqvarna supply engine.
Companies buy them in lots, and some, other than trim(logo, color, etc),are stock, and are usually on the parts lists.
Later/larger engines may swap,if the measurements are the same.
