Mower noise

I'm probably lucky this is my worst problem. I'd like to go one yr with no mower trouble!!!😟

This is a recycling Toro walk behind mower. 2 yrs old.

I hit a water meter and it stopped the mower. There's only a tiny PC of corner chipped off the blade and that's no problem cause Ive had worse.

Anyway, I restarted the mower an now it sounds like the throttle is running faster. Could that happen? What do I do? I still remember how often my dad yelled " slow down, you'll burn up the engine".

Thanks

blade could be(most likely is) unbalanced now.

new blade or have someone ( or yourself) sharpen and balance.

Ok,

What's going to happen if I keep using it as is until it just stops running? I don't like the man at the mower repair shop and I have to switch cars with my daughter to even take it to a shop. It's all a pia.

What's the life span of a mower?

life of a mower?10sec-30 years depending on how it's taken care of

if it's truly ''over reving''it won't last long and could be dangerous..

Just got my mower back from shop. Good thing I took it in.

They showed me the old blade. One side one completely bent from hitting that steel city water pipe. That's why it felt different afterwards.

You're lucky. It's not unusual for the flywheel key to shear and or a bent crankshaft when an object is hit hard enough to stop the engine. Maybe that mower is Toro tuff.

In the future---replacing a blade is not advanced mechanic work--

That is also the time to change the oil---when that day comes--start a thread---most of us have done that task many times.

My yard is over a gravel bed (ancient glaciers) and clobbering rocks is common---so blade changing is done all to often---
