lawn sweeper

not for leaves, i mulch those. this would be for wurly-birds and these long'ish seed pods, that when heated by the sun, pop into cottony stuff. this stuff is all over my yard, and lots of it. would a sweeper get this stuff up ?

Have a lot of cottonwood trees here and a lawn sweeper only does a fair job of picking up all the trash those trees drop in the spring. Seems to work better if there are grass clippings as well. It all kind of sticks together which makes it easier for the sweeper to pick up.

hello Ken

it is not a cottonwood. idk what it is. it has white bark, but does not stand straight up. and has a 3-4' base. the seed pods are about 3" long. let me see if i can find a pic.

Sweeper does a decent job on the whirly-gigs from the maple trees. Bagger on the mower works better.

That's an almost ridiculous price. How wide? And is it a push or a tow behind?

well, i used it today. it did work, but not well. it did pick some of the stuff up. in its defense, the stuff i was asking it to pick up really was a pita. its just not made to do what i was asking. but from what i could see, it would work really well for leaves.

so, its going back.

ken. iirc its about 22" and a pusher. i don't have a rider, so i couldn't try a puller. that i bet would do a better job.

I don't need one, but my daughter could use one. Would be my grandson pushing it as they don't have a rider either.
