Cub Cadet LT1045 PTO Issue w/ Pics

I own a LT1045 Cub Cadet Riding lawn mower that has definitely seen it's share of grass cutting, with over 600 hours on it! I recently bought a new one but am trying to fix this one! Short story, was cutting, PTO disengaged, and mower started vibrating, but not too bad. Mower turns on but PTO won't engage. I really don't know too much about riding mowers but I did notice this wire, not sure if it plugs in anywhere.

So my questions are twofold:

1). In attached pictures does, (wire in my hand), actually plug in anywhere?

2). If this isn't the issue what else could be the problem besides replacing the PTO clutch?

Thanks for your insight and time,

Robert

Well that wire came off from somewhere. Look up under where the pto switch is and see if wire came off there. May need good flashlight. If that's ok, could be switch itself bad, loose or frayed wire, or the pto clutch.

clutch doesn't usually go bad, but then again, you have over 600 hours on it. Just a suggestion.

Another possibility, there is usually a safety switch under the seat to check as well. If that's bad, pto wont engage either.

+1 on checking the seat safety switch. That connector could have come apart or it could be for an option your model doesn't have. Try searching for an online parts/wiring diagram. I had to replace the PTO clutch on my JD. It can happen, but I'm curious about the vibration.

If it's like most riders if the seat switch fails more won't drive either.

Yeah I don't think that wire actually plugs in anywhere, but that's just my two sense. I'm having trouble checking the safety switch under the seat, is there a page someone can refer me to? I'm no expert but even if it is the safety switch there why would that cause vibration?

2012 cub cadet ltx 1045 pto lever keeps bending and wont engage. I've replaced almost everything, everything is free just the lever still seems to push hard enough to twist the pto lever. Dealer says he never heard of this problem, but I don't believe I'm the only one with this issue. It's like the spring is to tight, but if you put weaker spring then it wont engage either. Has anyone else had this issue?
