Bolens by MTD 22" Push Lawn Mower Model 11A-074D765

Hi,
My Bolens lawnmower used to operate correctly..pretty much run @ a constant speed. Now it's what I call surging, I think it might have something to do with the throttle spring adjustment. I keep the air filter clean as possible. Has anyone in here had the same issue ? I've looked online for a video..etc. of how the throttle linkage is supposed to be adjusted, but so far no luck. The mower has the following Briggs & Stratton engine:
Model # 10J902
Type # 0342E1
Code # 06011954

Thanks for any help / suggestions provided.
David

Nothing to do with the spring.
The carburator is dirty, time to rebuild it.

Yep, definitely think the problem is with the carburetor. You can buy a rebuild kit for the carburetor and replace the parts yourself.

Check the price of a rebuild and a new one.I have found that some of the rebuild kits are about the same price as a new one. When you go to get the kit get the numbers off of the carburetor, this is what they will need to get you the right stuff.

Hi All,
First of all..thanks for all of your replies, just to keep you all updated..yesterday before going to work I removed the the cover off the top of the engine. That exposed a lot of trash that had accumulated on top of the engine..some of which was interfering with the operation of the plastic piece that's attached to the throttle mechanism. Today I'm going to clean the carburetor..also the air filter was pretty kind of dirty, it had oil built up on it.

Thanks to another poster in here..this is what my carburetor looks like, I just wish his image would have showed the spring's more.

Hi All,
Just to clarify what's occurring with my lawnmower, it's not surging while sitting still..it happens when moving it around,
