![]() B&S craftsman 6hp mower wont stay running?
i was mowing the lawn and mower stopped. i added fuel thinking it was out not sure if it was or not, i went to prime again when the fuel was going in it sounded like the fuel / motor was steaming is that normal?
any way now the mower only runs for 2 seconds and stops model 944.361543 |

May be time to rebuild the carburetor.
Very common problem since they came out with ethanol fuel. Try to find nonethanol fuel or at least add the additive to counter act the effects of it.

Blow out the jet .The screw you took out to get the float off has ports in them.Make sure they are clear

so last week i took apart the carb, cleaned everything. today i went to cut the grass. i cut about 15ft and stopped the mower to pickup some trash and then gave me a hard time to start. i had to prime it alot.
i finally got it running and then would only stay on for like 30seconds and sputter and die out??? |

I've seen them where the primer bulb was bad. Would run for a bit then shut off, would be hard to start ect. The ones I've seen fuel was leaking out of the primer bulb. Not a lot but enough to feel it on your finger.

Try running it with the gas cap loose after it stops. If the vent on the cap gets plugged, it'll have the same symptoms.
