rust appearing through retaining wall

was pressure washing my newly installed retaining wall, and have what appears to be rust spots on portions of the wall. If so, I am assuming from the rebar in the wall itself. Any hints or tricks on removing the stains?

Muriatic acid?

With the proper safety precautions, of course.

Ayuh,.... Retainin' wall is a pretty vague description to go on,....

Poured formed wall,..?? Blocks,..?? Bricks,..??

Is there proper drainage, 'n back-fill behind the wall,..??
Rust usually means water,...
Stop the water, 'n no more rust,....

For clean up, I completely agree with jlhaslip,...

Re: rust appearing through retaining wall

Split faced block sounds like a segmental concrete block retaining wall, which would not have rebar in it. Post a picture, and try to describe in detail exactly what type of wall you have, and why you think there is rebar in the wall.

Re: rust appearing through retaining wall

Highly unlikely that rebar would be rusting through to the surface this quickly, especially in full grout. Eve w/o caps, the water won't pass through & corrode an encapsulated rebar that quickly. How about a close up picture?

Once the rain subsides, and the face of the wall dries again, I will take some pictures of the 'suspected' rust stainage
