Leveling concrete garage floor

Hello. I'm in Louisville KY (saw a few posts in here where a person's location might be helpful to answer questions) and have a bit of an issue with a sinking garage floor. I worked in construction many years ago and a similar issue was addressed by the builder I worked for and resolved by drilling through the floor in several areas and pumping concrete under the floor and floating it back up in place.
Is this still a common practice and would anyone know how much it would cost in my area? The floor is about 4 inches low on one side of an approximately 24'X24' garage. Only one side is affected due to the placement of stress joints cut into the concrete after it was poured.

Thanks in advance.

It's called mudjacking here, and consists of a mixture of soil and cement that's mixed into a slurry and pumped under the floor. Another similar option is expanding faom, which accomplishes the same. I have an idea what it costs here, but that would likely be of little use to you there. Try to search your area for a local estimate.

Re: Leveling concrete garage floor

There's a few guys by me that do that. They drill holes about 3-4' apart and pump a grout mix in to raise up the slabs. Then they mix up a little concrete to patch the top 1/2" or so of the hole so it blends in with the existing slab. I had this done about 15 years ago and it has held up pretty well. They did the first four slabs of my 18' wide drive and also my front walkway, which was 4' by about 20'. Back then it cost me $350. They call their businesses either concrete leveling, or slab jacking.

Thanks guys. At least I know it's an option. It's pretty far down on the project list right now so I may post more on this later on.
