Ground prep

I want to pour a slab next to my pole barn to store my travel trailer on, thinking 12'x30' (30' matches the length of the barn). We just bought the house last year and immediately had a 18" diameter Austrian Pine removed in this spot (it was 1/2 dead already). The stump was ground to about a foot below ground. Everything here is sand and more sand.

Few questions....
1. Is compacted sand sufficient to pour over or should I bring in a rock base?
2. How deep should I make the slab?
3. Should I pour it right up to the pole barn or leave a couple feet between them? Barn has a concrete foundation already if it matters.

Thanks all
