1) that river gravel is a prefect color blend to the stamped concrete deck

2) I've heard that the resin bonds nicely to aged concrete. In my limited experience, the only method that met with any success at mating new and old pours, is to remove the old concrete, form and re-pour that section adjacent to whatever sound concrete remains.

I've heard that there is an acrylic resin on the market in addition to the water based and epoxy. I'm a neophyte with this material and technique. Anyone know which is superior to the other and in what way?

I'm not opposed to using the polycrete if there is a reasonable chance of it maintaining bond and structural integrity for a decade or so.

Thanks for all the help thus far. Keep it coming

Don't bet the ranch on that color being accurate from what your seeing in a pic.

Re: Bonded Stone overlay on concrete patio

I have a local source for the stone. I have the stone piled into general shape in
place where it will be employed. It blends well when wet and is pretty bland when dry.

Im basing my opinion on the assumption that the resin will have a similar effect to water.

BTW, :>) my plan is to place a border of this stuff extending 1' out from exterior wall. It will be no more than 2" thick. It will receive virtually no exposure to foot traffic.
