Sliding screen door - problem removing

Hi

I need to remove a screen door to replace the screen. I've seen a number of videos explaining how to adjust the tension screws but I'm pretty sure my door doesn't have those screws. How do I get the door out of its tracks if there are no tension screws??

Thanks
Mitch

Post some pictures as you get more posts. You'll need like 5 posts.

Thanks for the suggestion. Apparently I can't post these portrain, only landscape. First one shows the bottom of the door on metal runner. The other two are the top of the door showing the spring that (should) close the door.

Re: Sliding screen door - problem removing

I would slide the door all the way one way and look for screws that go straight up in that head track, and remove them. Then slide the door all the other way and remove the rest of them. Then unhook the spring. That head track should pop out. You might have to give it a whack with a thin stiff putty knife and a hammer if it's been glued on with varnish.

If there are no screws in the head track, let us know.

That's the top of the door Neal. No roller up there.

The bottom looks similar.

Re: Sliding screen door - problem removing

No - no screw in that little hole. I think the suggestion to take the top track off completely is probably right. That's what I was thinking but didn't want to do that if it wasn't necessary. (My DIY skills are not up to much and things I take apart don't always go back together again!!)

I'll give this a go at the weekend.

Thanks for your help
