Door knobs for double entry doors?

How does the door knob/deadbolt situation work on a double entry door?

Not sure of the question. What are you referring to?

Usually the fixed door is pinned in place, top and bottom and the movable door has the deadbolt/latch. Again, not sure of the question.

Personally I would not have a double door as an entry door.

Far too many problems.

Question.
Have you ever tried to keep the family/people from slamming the door.?

Agree. My house has a double door as the main entrance. The stationary door is secured at the top and bottom, but I'm pretty sure that a swift kick right at the center where the two doors meet would have both doors open in a few seconds. Not a fan.

Newer and better doors are improved.

I didn't know that 1 of them was fixed. That's stupid and defeats the whole purpose.

It is fixed when closed, you can still un fix it and open it.

That makes more sense.

Re: Door knobs for double entry doors?

The inactive leaf of residential double doors are often secured with 1/2-mortise flush bolts. Now, I have seen them covered by a T-astragal .
