Three Season Porch

Would like to insulate my porch before winter. Access is quite easy. Is it possible to use Tyvek as a barrier on the bottom of the joists and simply blow in insulation then seal the holes in the Tyvek??? Any inexpensive suggestions?

Don't bother.

Use something like roxul or batt insulation and then cover with rigid foam to hold it in place.

That will help with the thermal bridging and make it more efficient.

It doesn't seem to make sense to spend the time and money to insulate the roof when the porch is not to be heated.

I am assuming it is not be heated as you only mentioned joists and not walls and have not stated that the porch was to be enclosed.

Andy.

yes the porch is enclosed with windows/screens. The wind whips up through the floor and makes it extremely cold. We keep our fire wood on the porch in the winter. I plastic all the windows for the winter
