Thermal barrier needed at top of walls?

I have these 2 inch thick foamboard panels on my walls and the tops are exposed as in this picture. They will be above a drop ceiling. Do these 2 inch wide areas need a thermal barrier if above a drop ceiling and if so how is that usually handled. Can I L over them with 3/4 boards?

Drop ceiling should serve as the thermal barrier from a flame spread from inside the home.

If you are concerned, just cover them with 5/8" drywall.
