Starting with the basic

Turning my attic into storage and for a Versa Lift to be installed. Live in FL. I am sure the attic is strong enough to hold what I need it to.

Right now, there is basically nothing in the attic. It's an old house. I don't need the ultimate control of temperature up there, but decent. I have looked at several options of insulation but can't decide.

For the FL weather and an older home, what would you guys say is the best insulation for my purpose?

How are you sure that it is rated for storage?

Have you consulted an engineer or looked at the framing?

I believe that code calls for a minimum of R-30 in zone 2, which comprises most of Florida.

Storage and adequate insulation are generally mutually exclusive in attics. Possible, but you may need to get creative. +1 on verifying the structure.
