So my rainshower froze...

It was a balmy -2 and all of the sudden my new rain shower stopped working. I thought...it couldn't be frozen as I insulated the entire addition with R40! And it's only -2, although it has been windy.

I know this is a DIY forum, but I had a plumber install the shower...and shouldn't of paid a dime.

Talk about laziness! When I made my way through the attic, this is what I found

I insulated from underneath and can't believe I missed it as well.

Oh,boy. That sure was a goof up.

When that is reworked, pitch the pipe down to the shower head so most of the water drains from the system.

when you get in there to fix this, i'd also suggest you blow in a couple-3 inches of cellulose to fill the voids in the fiberglass batts and to "seal" the batts; they leak like crazy when exposed like that.
