Loose fill fiberglass in attic

I have a home build in the 80s. The attic was filled with pink fiberglass loose fill. I was in the attic and using the "great stuff" to spray around the ceiling and fan fixture boxes in the attic. I noticed the insulation was not evenly distributed and when taking some measurements I got around 7 to 10 inches overall. I was at HD and noticed they allow the rental of the machine for free and the loose fill is around 29 a bag!

On another note I notice that styrofoam baffles were placed at every other cavity in the baffles v.s. every single baffle. I have a gable vent on both sides. In terms of my insulation should I even it out with a rake and maybe put more baffles? If so what is the recommended inches of insulation?

No ones knows how much you need because no one knows where you are.
Google "insulation zone map" if your in the US.
And yes it needs to be evened out.
How many baffles would depend on what type and how much soffit venting you have.
No since having baffles where there is no vents.
Going to have to buy 10 bags of blown in to get a free rental.

I live in Maryland. The attic has two gables on each side. One gable has a attic fan while the other doesn't. There are soffit vents on the roof eves.

I was at HD today and both guys behind the rental counter said the rental of the blown insulation machine is FREE. I asked him about the 10 bags (which it says next to the loose insulation on the rack). He said it's not necessary it's free to rent the machine (just need a deposit). I notice the pink panther sticker all over the machine most likely Owings Corning is trying some promo to push people to buy or my HD is doing something.
