Insulation for attached garage - irregular spaces between wall studs
As I am finishing my garage (20'x20') I am looking for an easy to install insulation. Here're my challenge:
- the spaces between wooden studs are irregular. They vary from 4" to 24" and can be anything in between.
- I have tons of electrical cables and outlets coming throughout garage walls (to be concealed). I guess this won't simplify installation either.
some more info -
- I don't need a crazy high R-value. I think ~10R should be fine.
- Currently, the walls are unfinished. From outside to inside I have: bricks, thin MDF with attached thin "carpet-like mat" (no idea what's the purpose of that), wooden studs
So question - what insulation material I should be looking at? Would the foam (spayed foam) be the best option? Rigid foam?
Denim / wool, considering irregularities, can be difficult / ineffective to install.
