I know that the most popular way to insulate metal roof for pole barn is to spray it with foam. But I am wondering what did the ole timers down before there was spray foam to control condensation on the underside of a metal roof. I know the other choice is double bubble but the net is full of reason not to use it since life span is about 10yrs. I know location is everything but this will be in East Tx where its hot and humid just like lot of other places.
Spray foam is about the only way to do it properly since there was no diaper insulation installed during construction. Spray foam will eliminate the need for air space above the insulation and ridge/soffit venting. Without the air over the insulation the metal roof will sweat and cause water problems down the road.
