Clogged soffits/ mold in attic

We had our soffits redone a few years ago, dont have receipts as my father-in-law paid & has since passed away & I dont know what happened to his papers. Since the redo though, we have developed a mold problem. I went into the attic in the fall & saw no light along roof edge. The insulation was pushed right to the edge, even though the contractor took down the plywood soffit & removed some insulation, the insulation is still up to the roof edge, some insulation includes vermiculite. I tried to remove some but too low of a slope and couldnt get in to the edges. Was considering contacting the company who did the work to fix the problem but have been told by friends that though they appear legit, they dont fix problems. How can I fix this myself?, bearing in mind I'm a short, older woman. lol Should I try to work from the inside or try to take down the soffit & install baffles, as ought to have been done initially? Once this is done I can fix our fan vents, moldy gyprock & roof insulation. Where do I start? Help please?

How high up are the soffits?
What are they made of?
How many inches wide are they?

Joanne, I made this its own thread----

Pictures would help----you need a skinny and agile person to install baffles inside a low slope attic---

Pulling down soffits is another job best done by someone with experience--
Pictures will help--when that house was built, plywood soffits were standard--If you have aluminum ones now--they may be hiding the old, unvented, wood ones.
