Batts in ceiling that already has foam?

A common story, cold living space above the garage.
I took out the batts in the drop ceiling of the garage and had a contractor come in and spray foam the underside of the deck (bedroom floor/garage ceiling). They did the walls too. I also put a natual gas furnace in the garage and intend to keep it around 15C/60F in the winter.

I am about to drywall the drop cieling. There will be about 2' of space from the foam to the drop ceiling and was thinking of adding batts up there to beef up the insulation.

Would this be acceptable? Any issues with mold? I did a drawing to better illustrate...

I don't see how any insulation there would help the space above the garage. How is that space heated?

How thick is that rigid insulation?
Will you be bringing in wet or snow covered vehicles into that garage space?
What is your climate region?

With closed cell foam you have a vapor barrier. Adding another below would probably not be good. But, if you are introducing a lot of moisture into the garage you are in a pickle.

Once the lower insulation gets cold which is just time in cold weather. There is no heat to warm it up. I would put new insulation in contact with the foam. Every house up here as a room over the garage and they use glass bats and drywall. the drywall has to be taped and painted. I have never run across a problem.

i wont be bringing cars into the garage because i am turning it into a a bit of a man cave. Only source of moisture would be a snowblower. The house is forced air and the garage will be natural gas unit heater ceiling mount.

Then you are more concerned with w perimeter for insulation and the ceiling for sound proofing.

That's correct. I may want to be able to keep the garage cooler than the house to save on energy but never freezing because i am adding a urinal.
