Re: Will rock salt prevent unwanted growth

I will know if the salt works or not, last week I put 120 pounds of salt on the area we cleared the brush from, guess I will know later.

I did spray the other side of the fence with GroundClear, that stuff works for sure. I will be getting more of that if needed. It takes about two weeks to see results though.

Re: Will rock salt prevent unwanted growth

Hit the front and backyard with rock salt 8 days ago.

I hit the front yard with a garden sprayer: hot water and rock salt. The weeds died within 2 days.

The sprayer got jammed up in the backyard and then I decided to just dump the salt on the exposed dirt patches. Figured the upcoming light rain would help the salt absorb into the soil.

While there’s no new growth or extension of weeds that were already present at the timing of salting, the weeds are still alive.

Will post on their liveliness in a couple weeks.
