What insect is eating my vegetable plants?

Some bug is eating my bean plant and kirby (cucumber) plant. May be different bug for each. Didn't have this issue in recent years. Any idea what it could be, or how to deal with this?

Beans - a family member saw a bug on a leaf here and described it as a small, round, white bug (smaller than a ladybug) that flies:

Kirby:

Something is afflicting my okra plants, maybe not an insect, as a quick look didn't reveal holes. But the plants don't look robust as in recent years.

When gardening I never experienced enough damage to beans to make it a problem but then I grew Blue Lake which produces one large crop. Pole beans might be different.

In any case 7 should take care of all problems except squash vine borers. 100% safe when label directions are followed.

Sevin dust is a good product for weevils. Your damage, however is innocuous and should not be a problem. When you walk out there and all that is left is a skeleton of a leaf, then you should worry.

Saw the bug that's been feasting on the bean plant. Looks like some kind of beetle.

Anyone recognize these little bastards?

Those are Japanese beetles. They're in my area in Ohio now too. Go to the store and get a beetle trap. It's a plastic bag that hangs on a metal rod a couple feet off the ground. Included is a plastic piece with ferrimones on it which attract the mating beetles. They fall into the bag and die. Don't put it right near your garden, put it about 50-70' away as it attracts beetles. If it's too close to the garden they'll still snack on your plants on the way to the trap.
