very small black insects/spots ???

I noticed a bunch of very small black spots on the side of my stucco house and the gutter too. They are not moving and almost look like black eggs or something.

Can someone pls point me in the right direction so I can find out what I need to use to exterminate them? I noticed now they are on the leaves of my bedding plants [Penta's]. I tried googling them and could not get anything. this is not scale or mites from what I have been able to determine. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I will post back when I find out what they are. thanks, tstex

It sounds like artillery fungas. Google it and you'll get a bunch of results to compare.

bmathews - you are spot-on...thank you very much...I'll read some of the articles and get a game plan....I noticed some of the small looking inverted mushrooms on the mulch, so this is where the spores are being generated...good thing they are alien spores or we'd be out of here.

Thanks again,

Good to hear, I used to have to deal with these when detailing cars. We hated them as it took forever to get them all off.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what you can do to remove them from a stucco house and metal gutters? I would also like some suggestions on what you could spray on the spore producing area in the mulch as well. What a PITA !!

Thanks again,
