And if it weren't for the net i'd bet you don't know what species of rabbit that is.

EDIT: EDIT:
Looks like a hare or jackrabbit - much leggier and longer-eared than regular bunnies.

Re: Save our basil

Marigolds were a good idea but they didnít get to flower. Tiny green shoots grew and bunny devoured them, THEN, not only ate basil leaves but pulled basil plants out of the dirt and dug a shallow hole were the marigolds were.

Heís a European bunny and they burrow, I guess in planters if theres no other choice.

Daughters porch is Chattahoochee so sweeping doesnít pick up everything, so she had to drag the vacuum out. She called bunny a punk!

He's just being a bunny! She's trying to insist he not be a bunny. There are reasons that people don't usually keep bunnies as house pets. He's going to get a complex if she keeps scolding him. Look at his sad face.

(I haven't heard the word "complex" for many decades!)

Re: Save our basil

She wants both, bunny and herbs. I said put herbs on tall shelf but this is the ideal place for sun to reach them.

He has no shame. She wants him to be able to run around the porch. Weíll try chicken wire next, then she may need to put herbs on my porch.

No, smaller than a bunny's foot or chicken foot. You'd have to see it in person. Maybe smaller than this.

Re: Save our basil

Thanks, weíll look for it.

I canít figure why he never bothered plants before in the 3 months shes had him, until recently.

She said he:
Sleeps 95% of time
Races around porch 4% of time
Gets in trouble 1% of time

She gave me some of the basil that he dug up but I donít know what kind it is. it looks different than normal basil and it taste different. I ate a couple leaves. so Iím not going to put that in my sauce. Iím just going to throw it out

Re: Save our basil

We've gotta re-name that pesky wabbit. Maybe Basil Bunny or Bunny Basil but for sure something other than just bunny.

Think about 19 yr-old boys. You have a son, right? do they always stay home and are good? Bunny Testosterone.

Re: Save our basil

@Startingover , maybe name the rabbit Vinnie the Wabbit, maybe he's Italian, or at least likes a bit of zing in his veggie diet.

There are, by the way, many kinds of basil. Don't throw out your daughter's till you've had a chance to experiment. It might be wonderful in something other than what you'd normally put basil in.

And, it's easy enough to get the regular kind. I planted a bunch I bought as rooted plants from the supermarket in a plastic case . . . .

Re: Save our basil

I wonder how sensitive a rabbit's nose is? Dogs, I've read, are super sensitive, even more than cats. I wonder what stories the odors in the rug told the bunny rabbit?
