Pot farms

It wonderful that ill people find relief from legal marijuana.

But......

I have a red Turks Cap shrub (related to hibiscus). I only keep it because once a year a stunningly beautiful Baltimore Oriel sits on it. Maybe migrating?

My daughter wants a Turks Cap for same reason. They're kind of an old fashion plant with a tube like flower. We drove all over and today called every nursery to find one.

What we learned from a long time nursery owner; the suppliers who used to grow our plants have gone into the pot farm business. Out of 23 applications just a few were approved. The farmer has to have been in business for 30 years and you have to have 100 acres. So, not just anyone can grow legal pot. Plus theres consultants and investors and others involved.

I thought this was interesting and I assume theres a lot more money in growing pot than in growing flowers. Today I'm trying to get starts from my plant to give my daughter.

I also have a beautiful pink Turks Cap that I was going to dig up and discard but now will keep it.

Re: Pot farms

Yes... There is alot of money in it....

Used to be less expensive down at the local school yard.

The point being the irony of it all, (much like/similar to our medical insurance business.) Bring in big government and "necessary regulation"... not capitalistic competition, and we pay for the regulation and taxes for the sin of using a drug we deem OK as a society.)

We apparently as a society have judged grass is not such an evil, and actually a medical drug in many cases..... BUT, we have to control it (euphamistic for "hey, here is another tax source" as it was formerly sinful enjoyment.)

Why the hell can not people just grow it.... (we know the answer)
