Personal Experience


In those examples the trees were quite young. Does anyone have experience in pruning a mature Atlas Cedar ornamentally? If it's even a viable option, the idea would be to trim back encroaching limbs, and also thin out some limbs to give it a more pleasant, less wild look.

Yes a picture would be helpful. What are you trying to accomplish ? Is the tree too close to the house or showing diseased limbs or.........?

What state are you in ? Prune in dead winter as you don't want to attract bark beetles or other critters. We have Deodara cedars and leave them alone.
