Never get bubbles with paper and quickset .Maybe add a bit more water.I always go over the top of the tape after bedding with another thin layer of compound to wet both sides of the tape.Helps it lay better and dry more evenly.

Oh, I can make it happen. I just prefer premix with paper tape. More glue...

I'm sure you can.This was not directed at u but the op.
I'm a remodeler not a drywall guy but a lot of our business is drywall.
We always use Durabond or Easysand 90 and paper tape with blue lid topping. for the slick coat.
Works well for us and it's what we are used to.

17,000 dryer fires a year, when did you last clean the inside of the dryer near motor or the exhaust ducting?
