Any readymade boxes available for this?

A few years back we came across a wall that had lights built into the wall creating a nice look. Ever since I have wanted to do something similar. Was wondering if there are any readymade boxes like these or would have to be created using 1x2 and 1/4" plywood?

Is that an exterior house wall or something else.

It is likely a 2x6 wall to make room for the light box

the niche is usually short 2x4s with a full 1/4" plywood back and cut out plywood face. All made to fit in 5 1/2"

Might check out these in wall niches as a possibly easier alternative than trying to drywall or plaster it in https://www.bing.com/shop?q=inwall+nitche&FORM=SHOPTB

Re: Any readymade boxes available for this?

I looked at them but most are the bathroom niches and bigger in size. Typically for a LED candle I don't need them to be more than 8-9" height with atmost a couple of inches depth. Since the candles themselves will be battery operated (rechargeable) and not much heavy I was looking to combine my idea with what @Nealtw suggests but use less heavier material. Might use a L-bracket to fix the niche to the drywall.

Make your own design of the shape & size made out of
modeling clay.
Than use the clay model to make a plaster piece of the design by making a rubber mold than pour moulding plaster into mold can also use Hydrocal PLASTER THIS ONE IS VERY STRONG.

Also look @ Plaster Ornaments.
