Looking for advice on noise reduction windows

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on double glazing for sound reduction or looking to hear others experiences please. We are looking at moving and one of my concerns is the noise on the road we are moving to. Currently we live in a quiet area so have no noise concerns.

Looking for advice on noise reduction windows

What does the home currently have, single pane?

I have lived in several homes with double pane and didn't notice much noise reduction. My last home was 2x6 walls with doubles and i had a train crossing about 1/8 mile away and a pot-holed road with lots of trucks and boy was it loud. I think a quad pane with spray foamed walls would be much better

What makes no sense? There is a reason there are no answers on this post for a month.

If you're looking to reduce outside noise in your home, double paned/double glazed styles are a good option. There's sealed gas in between the panes of glass that reduces sound pollution, making it a perfect choice for homeowners who live on noisy streets.

One option for a double paned/double glazed style is a double-hung window. In addition to sound reduction, double-hung windows have many other benefits.

Hi, I recently installed blowen cellulose in the attic to cover the fiberglass-batts, and it made some difference. You can also add this to the side-walls depending upon what's already added in there. Also, carefully removing the trim around the windows and adding the foam insulation, just in case if that is lacking. That too could help.
