Wooden Soffit Repair on 80 Year Old Home

We have a couple of areas where our soffit has been damaged by water. The attached pictures show soffit damage on our external garage. There was an area where the flashing pulled away from the brick allowing moisture and water to enter. I attached and fixed the flashing but I have no idea how to fix the damaged soffit tongue and groove area, therefore, any help would be greatly appreciated. The pieces of metal in the pictures are a temporary solution to dry out the wood.

As nasty as all that and the crown moulding look I'd tare it all down and replace with vented beaded vinyl soffit and vinyl crown moulding and never have to deal with it again.

Why is that unistrut there if there's no need for it anymore?

I'm going to pull down the old garage door hangers, but a complete replacement sounds like a bigger job than a repair and more expensive.

Have you completed all the roof repairs yet? If not, you have the cart in front of the horse.

The roof / leak has been repaired. Any suggestions on links on how to patch? Thanks.

Not going to find one.
That wood looks like it's tonged and groved. There just is no good way to just patch it.
It's going to be a remove the old rotted stuff and replace.
If you fixed it the way I suggest for that small an area your only talking about $200.00 in materials.
