We installed a wood burning stove with proper installation kit through out and we have a metal roof. It required a rubber boot kit. On the side where the boot and the stove pipe come through the roof, there is a gap 1 1/2 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide. What can we use to fill the crack?
Get the right size boot, it's obviously too big. It should be clamped anyways so you could try seeing if the clamp will close the whole thing but I doubt it.
BTW, I sure hope that's triple-wall pipe you used a boot on otherwise it's going to be a much bigger gap once it heats up.
Now I'm confused. Are you saying the top of the boot is not sealing around the pipe properly or there is a gap at the roofdeck? If it's a gap at the roofdeck then it's not installed properly. If it's a gap around the pipe then you have the wrong size boot.
I realize we need a picture for additional help. I am working on getting that. I will look forward to your advice.
