What adhesive to repair a roll roof?
I had an flat, roll roof--I believe a bitoman (?) torch down applied six years ago, and the seams (mostly head laps) have come lose in many places. Estimates to repair (not replace) it are from $3000 to $16000 with no warranty. One roofer already repeaired a few seams (for $1000) that leaked immediately and he never came back either, so I have trust issues. Anyway, they said they would apply a sealer to the loose seams. This doesn't sound THAT hard, so I am faced with doing it myself. I have caulked the loose seams with Black Jack asphalt (I think) caulk, and I believe I now need to add a brush on adhesive. I am worried that I will use the wrong adhesive that will eat through or otherwise leave me worse off than before, or won't stick.
