want to put heat tape but I have 3 - 22' down spouts

Do I have to go down and then up the 22' down spouts then accross the inside of the gutter then zig zag the roof down and up the 22' down spout accross the roof and then down the other down spout.

Visit the manufactures website.Enter the product name and number into the websites directory. If necessary contact the manufacture by email or by phone. Those lines of communication can be found on most sites on the very bottom of the site.Generally within the CONTACT US link.

I personally never give anyone advice about too much electrical.Water and electricity don't get along very well.I am a wimp with electricity.

Fix the heat loss from the attic and you won't have to worry about ice damning.

Your best installation is to install double runs everywhere except the serpentine on the roof. Start at the junction box and run directly up onto the roof for your serpentine. At the other end drop into the gutter and run one at the house side (facia) bottom of the gutter. When you get back to the starting point, run another cable out on the bottom front of the gutter dropping a loop down each leader to the very drip edge, no further. If you extend it out the bottom, animals will chew it in the summer. Then dead end it back at the begining.

This is the way we install it and they never "bridge" over the top like single runs will do.
