Valley flashing with zip panels

Hi,

I'm about to shingle a roof that's been sheated with huber zip-panels. I feel that the valleys should be better protected than only the 6" wide valley tape. Is it common practice to only use the tape instead of metal valley flashing or ice and water in the valleys when using zip roofing?

Thanks!
