unusual roof venting problem

My roof is a single ridge roof 40' long. 6:12 pitch 23' rise. The only overhang is the 2x12 fascia board coming perpendicular from the roof with the bottom of it coming at an angle to the the top couple of inches of soldier bricks which top the outside walls of the house. There is a 1\4 to 1\2 in space between the two for the length of the house front and back . The top floor has vaulted ceilings with a knee wall about 8' in from the outside wall. There was no vent space left between sheet rock and decking and there are no vents on the roof. I'm getting a new roof and my Question is -Can i use a ridge vent and 3-4 low profile roof vents spaced along the knee wall line to alleviate the extreme heat and sometimes condensation on my top floor?

pics would help. but yea you definitely need to work out a ventilation system. what roofing material do you have

existing roof is asphalt shingles. Will get pics soon.

It can/will help some but very little.
To rid yourself of the problem you need to create free flow of air from the knee wall to the peak of the roof.

They actually make intake vents that can be placed in the roof a few feet above your eaves, they'll perform better than box vents.

I find several kinds of low profile vents some square or round "slant Back", "eyebrow vent". any suggestions? How many would I use for the attic space that runs 40" long and 8'deep on a 6:12 pitch

those seem fine make sure you got good intake vents too
