Turbine roof ventilators or Ridge ventilation?

Due to hail damage, we are getting bids for a new roof. We currently have two turbine ventilators near the top ridge of the roof. Some roofing contractors have recommended removing the turbine ventilators and adding 100 feet of ridge vent. Which is better???

Ridge vent by far. It will vent the whole roof not just a circle, and look a whole lot better.
Do not cheap out and buy Three tab shingles to the main roof or the ridge.
Real ridge cap shingles cost more but are about twice as thick and not likly to crack.
