Trying to get another 5 years out of my metal roof

I have an old sheet metal roof on an old wood shed. 15X15'. About 25 yrs old, I figure. It had surface rust on top on 80% of it. I thought, maybe if I spray a dilute phosphoric acid solution on the rust, that will convert it over. Then, I could coat it with elastomeric coating, maybe 2 coats. It DOES have some pinhold rusted through holes.

There are maybe 2-3 kinked/damaged spots too. Is this plan a workable one to you experts out there? Better idea without spending hundreds on materials?
