truss roof conversion. Possible?

Hello all. Just purchased a relatively new home in Florida with the newer style truss roof. A bit of a waste of space, the attic area is enormous. Thinking of projects for down the road a bit...
Does anyone know if it's possible to convert a truss roof to a traditional roof with rafters (and make more living space)? I know that not a DIY project, needs an engineer for sure. Just curious if anyone knows the answer. Thanks.

Anything is possible but when most design for any type of usable space they use 40-50 psf. I always use 50. Only time your supposed to use 40 is if its a bedroom. Attic space is designed for 30psf per code. This means you would have to evaluate the entire structure from attic down to foundation for the additional 20psf. Sorry to say this but its going to be very difficult to evaluate the existing structure without taking the sheetrock off the floors below. It really depends on your house though, if its just a track home, chances are your trusses span from exterior wall to exterior wall and you may not need to take the sheetrock on the floors below off. Now if you have a custom 5,000-10,000sf house like some of these we've done, your probably screwed.
